Rentri

Rentri is a web platform that helps independent rental hosts bring structure to the often fragmented process of managing rental properties. By consolidating tenant information, lease details, payments, maintenance requests, and operational tasks into a single interface, Rentri reduces cognitive load and eliminates the need to juggle multiple platforms, allowing hosts to manage their properties with clarity and efficiency.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Many independent rental hosts who manage one or multiple units rely on several disconnected tools to handle their daily operations. Tenant communication lives in messaging apps, contracts are scattered across physical folders or digital drives, maintenance requests are tracked informally, and important dates are easy to miss.

This fragmented workflow increases cognitive load, leads to errors, and turns rental management into a stressful and time-consuming process. Most existing property management platforms are designed for large portfolios or professional real estate companies, making them overly complex, rigid, or impersonal for independent hosts.

REFLECTIONS & ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTS

REFLECTIONS & ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTS

REFLECTIONS & ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTS

Throughout the development of Rentri, a few key areas for improvement became clear.

The main opportunity lies in incorporating interactive user testing. While initial decisions were based on assumptions and secondary research, validating core flows through real users would help identify usability gaps and strengthen the overall experience.

The platform also reflects a very slight imbalance between landlord and tenant needs. Future iterations would aim to create a more consistent experience that equally supports both user groups.

Some design decisions were informed by AI-assisted exploration, which helped accelerate the process. Moving forward, these would be further grounded in direct user insights and validation.

Visually, the interface was kept clean and minimal to prioritize clarity. This opens an opportunity to introduce more feedback and data visualization, particularly in financial interactions, to increase user confidence.
